AMY: BEYOND THE STAGE
EXHIBITION DESIGN & MARKETING

For the Amy: Beyond the Stage exhibition, we created an identity and design system that echoed Amy’s complexity – personal, raw, and eclectic. The visual approach drew from her handwritten lyrics, journals, and the tactile, imperfect charm of Camden itself. We embraced materials like wood, glass and paper, avoiding anything cold or over-produced, to echo the warmth and intimacy of her music and personality.

Captions and intro panels took inspiration from personal artefacts and local iconography, including Camden Square’s tribute-filled sign. Typography was kept sincere and understated, using Arizona Flare and Sans to balance character with clarity.

We designed the panels as physical assemblages – each referencing a different chapter of Amy’s life and influences, using mixed media and traditional techniques. Throughout, we looked to echo her process: reflective, handwritten, and emotionally direct. Even the use of debossed handwriting in notebook-style captions offered a quiet, tactile nod to her presence.

For the finale, we crafted an immersive film experience – a reflective, dreamlike projection of Amy’s silhouette performing ‘Tears Dry on Their Own’. Shown in a mirrored space, it leaves visitors with a lasting impression of Amy’s spirit, voice, and legacy, suspended between absence and presence.
