BURN THE HARD DRIVE

Returning client, Jade Bird, invited us to create the campaign, artwork, and music videos for her 2024 single and EP: Burn the Hard Drive.

Based on the themes taken from the EP’s songs, we created visuals that physically remove figures, including Jade, from the surroundings, leaving subtle ‘data ghosts’ in their place.

The music videos combine lofi and candid shots of Jade around LA, aiming to capture a personal emotive performance. Lots of post-production effects were used, including distortions, blurs, and data moshing and glitching to affect the scenery and interrupt the edits as if the footage itself is being erased or deleted.

For the EP, we continued to use these themes, but executed them in ways more suitable for print. The cover of the EP features a die-cut, which physically removes Jade from the artwork when the sleeve is pulled out. The one-sided vinyl itselffeatures a bespoke etched type treatment evocative of a scratched hard drive disk.
