We accessed the MTV archives to create a nostalgic look that dialled in the 80s for the 2017 live award show.

Broadcast Design
The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards was a unique event in the awards schedule as it celebrated, for the first time, TV and streaming services alongside blockbuster movies. This year's awards also removed gender boundaries from the awards, recognising actors for their talent alone.
Alongside the logo, we celebrated the 80s throughout the show packaging, utilising 80s stock video footage, bespoke VHS video and custom graphics. We worked with Father to develop a series synth inspired by sound beds for the award films.
We worked onsite to create the screen content for the show. The majority of the set was composed of LED Screens and video lead lighting products. We worked closely with the set design team and the lighting designers to bring the set to life through colourful kinetic 80s-inspired neon visuals.
