We refreshed So Skint’s brand identity for the launch of their record label, drawing on the visual language of 90s and 00s recession-core.
London-based So Skint. offer a remedy to the pains of being a struggling music artist or a struggling music fan. They’re building a community around feel-good, high-energy electronic music; throwing affordable events that pay artists fairly and won’t bankrupt their patrons.
To encapsulate this all-round good deal and launch their record label, we leaned into the nostalgic imagery of 90s and 00s recession-era aesthetics and drew inspiration from liquidation and sale signage, teleshopping, scratch cards and receipts.
Supporting the frequency of their programming, we delivered a dense brand toolkit they could roll out everywhere and adapt to endless themed events. This included different logo variations, stickers, digital textures and poster layouts as well as two launch video assets that set the tongue-in-cheek tone for their refreshed identity.
