Wa To Yo Album Campaign

With a strong, soulful sound, Japanese R&B phenomenon AI is poised to take over the world with her inspiring message of love and happiness.

The album title Wa to Yo can be interpreted as ‘Japanese International’. Wa has several meanings, Japanese, Harmony, Sum, and balance. Yo can be interpreted as Ocean or Overseas. The album title plays with these layered meanings and reflects Ai’s diversity and how she wishes to express herself through her music. We have used both English and Japanese characters to express this duality the album title can be read in both languages at the same time.

このアルバムのタイトルである「和と洋」の和は、日本の伝統のことを意味します。
和とは、日本らしさ、調和、結果、バランスなど色々な解釈ができます。反対に、洋は海外の事を指します。
その様々な意味にとれるタイトルは、まさにAIの中の日本と海外からなる多様性や、彼女が自身をどう音楽を使って自身を表現するかを表しています。アートワークでは、英語と日本語の文字の双方を使用することで、このタイトルを体現するように日英どちらでも読めるようになっています。

Ai is Studio Moross’ first Japan based music client. Aries Moross was taken on board as art director for the established musician early 2017, and developed a series of artworks for the artists new album campaign with Studio Moross.
